      My ancestor above died in a fire in Denton, Tx. in Feb. 1880. I am wondering if you can provide me with nay additional information about his death? Deborah Hunter

      I apologize for the delay in responding.

      A George Washington Tillman Sr. is listed on the 1880 Texas Death Index. It indicates he was killed, but I am unable to decipher enough to provide details. Tennessee was given as the birth place of him and both parents. It lists his age as 27, so he would have been born c1853.

      I find nothing else, but I’ll keep an eye out for him.
